We know that some of you want to use Contractbook as a tool to sign preexisting documents. To make this possible, we have added a function to do this directly under the Create a new document button which you find under both the Documents and Templates tabs.
To sign and send a PDF, image, or Word document through Contractbook follow the steps below:
Step 1: Chose who will sign the contract
Typically this will be Me and others but you can also choose Only others or Only me if needed.
Step 2: Add a title and your contact information
Add the title of the contract and the contact information of your recipient(s), choose Company if your recipient is representing a company, and Private person if you are signing a contract with a private person.
Step 3: Attach a file
Now attach the document you want to be signed, using the button below the parties field.
The maximum file size is 23 MB. We support these file types:
Step 4: Sign and send
The last steps are to fill in the signature field and sign. If you like, you can edit the subject line and/or message that will be shown in the recipient's email.
When ready, press Sign and Send. After you've signed the document, it will automatically be forwarded to the recipient(s). You can follow the process as usual on the Documents page.
Hint: You can customise the signature proces and e.g. sign last yourself. You can read more about how to do that under point 2 here.
We always recommend that you transform your contract templates to Contractbook templates. This will allow you to reuse and edit the templates later. Please be aware that custom templates are only available for paying users.
