Our smart “electromagnetic“ Gmail importer extracts contracts from your Gmail account and uploads them to an organised overview on Contractbook.

One of the benefits of using a contract management system like Contractbook is that you can organise all your contracts in one place to get a complete overview of all your legal documents. An overview like this makes it easier for you to manage your contracts through their entire lifecycle and stay on top of your obligations.

However, we are aware that it is a dull and time-consuming task to gather and organise all the contracts you have signed with other digital signature tools and stored in long email threads in your G Suite. This is why we have automated the process with our smart “electromagnetic“ Gmail importer. Our Gmail importer extracts contracts from your Gmail account and uploads them to an organised overview on your Contractbook account. After your contracts have been uploaded, you can add tasks and notes to them and ensure that they are executed on efficiently.

Here's how to use the Gmail importer

Step 1: Go to Documents on the navigation bar. There, you will be able to upload documents to your Contractbook account in various ways. Choose the Gmail importer to get started. You will then be directed to our Gmail importer where you have to sign in with the Gmail account you want to extract documents from.

Log in with your Gmail account

Step 2: When you have logged in, please click Show filters. Then you will be presented with a drop-down menu. In the drop-down menu you will be able to choose which domains you want to import contracts from. We have listed the most common providers but you can also add custom domains at the bottom of the page. Click Save changes when you have chosen your domains.

Step 3: Click Import at the top of the page, and we will begin to find and extract legal documents from your Gmail account. This might take a while depending on the number of contracts in your email account.

When the import has finished, you will be presented with a list of all the imported documents. The list will display the titles of the contracts, the various attachments, as well as the basic information related to the contract such as date, subject, and other email addresses related to it. Select the contracts you wish to import and click Upload to Contractbook in the top right-hand corner.

There you go! Your contracts will now appear in a private Gmail folder on your Contractbook account.
